The newest raunchy bro-mance just hit theaters, only this time, it has nothing to do with Judd Apatow. Role Models is directed by the very witty David Wain, and written with the help of its star, Paul Rudd. If these two together again gets your hopes up for a lot of laughs, don’t fret—you won’t be disappointed.

Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (Seann William Scott) are colleagues and friends arrested after getting a bit out of hand with the energy drink truck they drive for work. After escaping jail time in lieu of 150 hours of community service, they are enrolled in the local Big Brother program. The Sturdy Wings community center is run by ex-drug addict Gayle, (Jane Lynch), whose “anti-bullshit” policy is strictly enforced upon anyone who enters her organization, particularly Danny and Wheeler. The pair’s little brothers Augie and Ronnie, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse (better known as McLovin), and Bobb’e J. Thompson, turn out to be more than they can handle, and the four boys must adapt and learn from each other during the month that they are stuck together. Along the way are LAIRE battles, potty-mouthed children, naked ladies and a volatile relationship between Danny and his ex-girlfriend/lawyer, Beth (Elizabeth Banks).

What makes this film work is its amazing cast and impeccable comic timing. The jokes are funny, yes, but not entirely unseen, and the plot is formulaic and predictable. However, the actors play off of each other so flawlessly that every joke is landed perfectly. This results in hilarity throughout the entire movie, and a really fun theater experience— especially when there’s a full audience. This fantastic of an ensemble is rarely assembled, and the hour and a half of crude jokes and slapstick humor they provide are an excellent way to spend a night.
