After an almost 7 month hiatus, everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure, Jersey Shore, is back. The first episode airs this Thursday night, but things have changed since the final episode of the first season. LeBron James said, “This fall I am taking my talent to South Beach,” and MTV said, “So are we.” The majestic guidos and guidettes that roamed Seaside Heights last summer have now been removed from their natural habitat and placed in Miami. Let’s quickly breakdown what can be expected from this season.

This season could be very hit or miss, and I think this can be for two reasons. First, last year when the cast was living at Seaside Heights, the people who were there didn’t know who they were. Now everyone knows who these people are; they’re reality celebrities and no one can say the word “situation” without someone snickering. I hope this doesn’t mean that people are out to get any of the cast, or that they’re living a “celeb” lifestyle. Secondly, let's pray MTV doesn’t fall into the trap of just putting out garbage and thinking that people will watch. We can only hope that the same drama and hilarity that was present in the first season is there in the second.

The self-proclaimed “Kim Kardashian of Staten Island,” Angelina, is coming back. I have many questions about life, but MTV’s decision to bring her back ranks up there with many of them. Angelina left the house last season after only a couple episodes, and I don’t think anyone watching really cared for her. Even before the new season starts there has been news involving Angelina. Recently it was announced that the entire cast would be coming back for a third season, with the exception of Angelina, which to me means that either she still sucks this season, or gets kicked out again, which would be awesome.

Finally, the relationship between Ronnie and Sammi is over, and from the looks of the previews, we have a giant, sloppy, drunk, single Ronnie. It should be interesting to see how Sammi deals with this “new” Ronnie, but my only hope is that single Ronnie will punch someone and we can see it this time, please? “Just one shot?”

I hope everyone out there has been using the Shake Weight to increase fist-pumping abilities, has set aside GTL time this Thursday before the premiere and understands exactly what a grenade is. The new season of Jersey Shore is exactly what students need heading into the new school year, because no matter how bad you do in your classes, you’ll still never be one of these people (or would that be so bad?).
