Indiana Jones back for another adventure

May. 21, 2008 - by Matt Carey – buzz Writer

After nineteen years and many different scripts, Indiana Jones is finally returning to the big screen with the fourth film in the series, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The plot has been kept tightly under wraps with even the films title kept secret up until a few months ago. However, we do know that the film takes place in the 1950s with Soviet soldiers searching for crystal skulls, ancient artifacts that are guarded by the living dead. The storyline is credited to executive producer George Lucas.

65-year-old Harrison Ford is reprising the lead role, with the rest of the cast rounded out by Shia Labeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone and Karen Allen, who’s revisiting her role of Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Like the previous three films, Steven Spielberg will be directing again. Spielberg said the movie was shot on film, as opposed to capturing it digitally, to keep intact the look and feel of the other films.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be released May 22, 2008.
