If you are like me and love Frango mints from Marshall Field’s (yes, Marshall Field’s, I refuse to call it Macy’s), this recipe is for you! Even though it doesn’t use any Frango mints, it has a similar taste and is absolutely delicious! Perfect for any upcoming holiday parties or just if you need a treat to get you through the week.

Frango Mint Brownies (made in three stages)

    Stage 1

    4 eggs (beaten)

    1 1/2 cups sugar

    1 cup butter (melted)

    1 cup flour

    4 squares unsweetened chocolate (melted)

    1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine beaten eggs with sugar, and beat well. Add melted butter, chocolate, vanilla and flour. Grease 13” x 9” pan, and bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

    Stage 2

    4 tablespoons butter (melted)

    2 tablespoons milk

    2 cups powdered sugar

    1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

    2-3 drops green food coloring

Mix all ingredients to a spreading consistency. Spread evenly on warm brownies. Let new layer harden in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.

    Stage 3

6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted)

    6 tablespoons butter (melted)

Mix well, and gently pour over the green frosting. Spread carefully to avoid disturbing green layer. Chill, then let stand at room temperature after chilling, and cut into small squares.
