In case the title proved to be too deceptive, we’ll be using this space to give you some recommendations of national bands that will beef up your music libraries and keep you from dying of repetitive music boredom:

The Avett Brothers (myspace.com/theavettbrothers): Take the opportunity to learn all of their oh-so-good folk rock sounds before they perform at Canopy in late February. Give them a shot if you dig Chris Thile (of Nickel Creek), The Wood Brothers or elsinore.

Vampire Weekend (myspace.com/vampireweekend): Everything about them, from the vintage charm of their album art to the upbeat piano melodies, unexpected cello solos and atypical vocals, makes their self-titled album downright addictive. Listen to their tunes if you’re into Tokyo Police Club, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin or Tally Hall.
