Strawberry Margarita
If there’s one thing I think of when it comes to good, fruity, summery drinks, it’s the strawberry margarita. This reddish concoction can come in both frozen and non-frozen states, and tastes fruity enough to hide the tequila’s alcoholic bite. And if there’s one place on campus I think of when it comes to strawberry margaritas, it’s Dos Reales.
Situated in what used to be one, but is now two comfortable locations just outside of campus proper, Dos Reales has been the home for many a person who craves some quality food from south of the border. Their authenticity rings throughout the restaurant, and it is certainly exemplified in their strawberry margarita.
First off, it comes in a variety of sizes, excellent for the drinker who prefers only a little (or perhaps a lot). The drink, which I prefer in its frozen form, tastes just like fresh strawberries, and you can barely even tell there’s alcohol in the drink. The only reason you can is the distinct flavor of the tequila that gives the margarita its signature taste. Both the tequila’s subtleties and the strawberry’s overtones mix together well, leaving the drinker both refreshed and otherwise content. From top to bottom, this drink is superb in both its taste and appearance.
We all know how much fun tequila can be, which keeps well with the theme I’m trying to convey – summer days, lounging around, having a good time. That’s why the strawberry margarita is the cocktail of the week.
Ingredients
tequila
Triple Sec
strawberries
lime
ice
Directions
In a blender, blend the items together, topping off the blender’s capacity with strawberries. Blend until smooth enough (to preference). Serve in a chilled glass with a straw. Optional sugar rim.
