The Fray with Special Guests Nathaniel Rateliff and the Wheel »

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, Colorado soft rock act The Fray will visit Assembly Hall with special guests Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel. The band first made a splash in 2006 with the overwhelmingly inescapable hit, “Over My Head (Cable Car),” quickly followed up by the similar-minded “How to Save a Life” — the latter of which was featured on hit ABC television show Grey’s Anatomy. This excitement and media acclaim led to two Grammy nominations for the band’s debut album, How to Save a Life.

After touring with the likes of Weezer and Ben Folds, The Fray continued to produce sweeping piano rock, as seen in their latest release, the self-titled sophomore effort, The Fray.

Adding to the band’s appeal is a well-delivered live show, showcased in the live releases, Live at the Electric Factory: Bootleg No. 1 and Acoustic in Nashville: Bootleg No.2. Both albums focus on the sweetly charged vocals of front man Joe King, supported by heart-wrenching piano solos, inspiring guitar riffs and an overall welcoming sound.

With a handful of Billboard chart topping tracks and multi-platinum success behind them, The Fray’s headlining show is an added treat to a quickly growing season of performances at Assembly Hall. Tickets for the event are still available and can be purchased at the Assembly Hall box office or any Ticketmaster outlet. University students will receive a $4 discount off of the $29 and $39 tickets.
