I know you can’t pronounce it.
But an acrobatic act is worth 1,000 words.
Saltimbanco — meaning “to jump on a bench” in Italian — is one of Cirque Du Soleil’s most entertaining, infamous shows, and it’s coming to our side of the crops on Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10 at Assembly Hall.
The gifted acrobats will captivate your eyes and lure your imagination with mind-blowing flexibility, magical scenery and an incredibly genius use of body language, music and dance to convey various themes, stories and emotions.
Cirque Du Soleil was founded in 1984 by Guy Laliberté in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec. How did Laliberté find such incredible talent to make the ensemble successful? It takes one to know one. Laliberté, who once played the accordian and ate fire, gathered talented acrobrats and entertainers from the city of Quebec and helped them develop their gifts and present them in a way that would mesmerize audiences all over the world.
Saltimbanco is jumping all over the the Western atmosphere this month with various shows in Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois.
