The House Bunny

As is often the case, most of the funny parts of The House Bunny made it into the trailer. Despite this, it still manages to have some redeeming qualities, the most notable of which is Anna Faris’ ditzy title character. Jilted Playboy Bunny Shelley is dumb and cleavage-bearing, but she’s also a sweetheart who manages to change the lives of a group of misfits.
Shelley is a Playboy Bunny who thinks she’s one of the luckiest girls in the world, but, after her 27th birthday, she is suddenly kicked out of the Mansion. Homeless, she unknowingly stumbles onto a college campus and into a sorority house which happens to look a lot like the Playboy Mansion. After realizing that she can’t join the sorority, she decides to become a house mother. The only available house is Zeta Alpha Zeta, and it’s filled with nice but hopelessly nerdy girls. Of course Shelley makes them over into the coolest girls on campus, but in the process, she gets her own makeover of sorts. After falling for smart, caring Oliver (Colin Hanks), she realizes that there’s more to life than just being sexy.
Bunny is very predictable. The Zeta girls are so awkward, it’s almost painful to watch, so their makeover is really the only acceptable storyline. Nobody wants to see a movie where the nerdy girls stay nerdy, right? The same goes for Shelley, only in the opposite direction. Of course she’s going to realize that being a centerfold isn’t the best thing that could ever happen to her. Despite the predictability, the movie does have its moments. Shelley’s ditziness leads to hilarious lines like “the eyes are the nipples of the face,” and it’s nice to see the Zeta girls finally be accepted by everyone. It’s also pretty awesome that they actually managed to get Hugh Hefner (and the girls) to be in the movie. The House Bunny isn’t great, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s meant to be fun, and, for the most part, it is.

I don't think I'll end up seeing this one, but that "eyes are the nipples of the face" quote is a pretty damn good one-liner.

I couldn't agree more. Ridiculous? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Entertaining? Yes!!!
Anna Faris totally won me over. I think she has a really promising career in comedy.
