Ben Stein (Illini Media Board)
For college students, Ben Stein may be most famous for those two monotone lines in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. But Stein has done much more beyond his role as a boring economics professor at Bueller’s high school. Thursday, Nov. 29, he will be visiting the University, appearing at Foellinger Auditorium at 7 p.m. for a lecture series presented by the Illini Union Board.
Stein will be discussing the current state of politics. Stein began his political career as a speechwriter and lawyer for President Richard Nixon and later for President Gerald Ford. Time Magazine even speculated he was “Deep Throat” in the Watergate scandal. He has always been a Republican supporter as well as an anti-abortion advocate, winning the Pro-Life Award in 2003.
Outside of politics, Stein is most well-known for playing unemotional characters on TV and in the movies. He had a recurring role in the TV series The Wonder Years and played himself in Dave. He also appeared in several TV commercials, most notably for Murine Clear Eyes in which he said, “The difference is clear ... Dry Eyes? Clear Eyes.”
In 1997, Stein got his own game show on Comedy Central, Win Ben Stein’s Money. On the show, contestants actually won money out of Stein’s salary. The show won seven Emmy awards before ending in 2003.
He currently reigns as the host of America’s Most Smartest Model. In February of next year, he will star in the controversial documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed about intelligent design believers and the discrimination they face within the scientific community.

My friend goes to Lawrence in Wisconsin, and Ben Stein came there last year to give a talk and I guess was trying to sexually harass/get with some female students there. Man, conservatives LOVE pedophiles!
