The mayor joined La Fiesta for some lunch before cutting the huge red ribbon at their opening ceremony. “We would like to welcome La Fiesta to the Champaign community and we thank you for giving our community the continued opportunity to try new cultural foods!”Schweighart said.

“We welcome all students and people in the community to come to La Fiesta to enjoy a delicious Mexican meal," said manager Luis Fuentes. "We understand what our community needs and we want to help our customers by providing them with an affordable and flavorful experience in our authentic restaurant," he added.

La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant serves fresh authentic Mexican food and drinks in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. This sit-down family style restaurant welcomes its guests with the traditional free delicious salsa and tortilla chips with every meal. They also serve a full compliment of domestic and Mexican beers and are very famous for their Margaritas which are 12 oz. for $1.99 on Mondays and 27 oz. for $5.99 on Sundays, for those who are interested. The menu offers a variety of choices from classic tacos, burritos, and more, prices ranging from $6-$7. One of their most affordable cuisines is their lunch special: The Speedy Gonzales which includes: 1 taco, 1 enchilada, and a choice of rice or beans for only $3.95, delicioso!
