Hosting some of the largest top-floor rent-out parties in the county and drawing line-forming crowds almost every night of the week, one thing is certain: Joe’s is hot this year. And according to its manager, Sam, the reason is neither the scrumptious menu nor those sweet local TV commercials — it’s the dance floor.

“People like that we have the dance floor separate, and you can come out to the bar if you get hot in there or just want to hang out,” says Sam, whose restaurant/bar has been decisively voted this year’s best place to get your groove on.

The credit for this award goes mostly to DJ Who and DJ Naughty Boy, who spin the beats every Friday and Saturday night. Their dance/hip-hop/rock blend offers something for everyone to dance to.

“Joe’s is the best place on campus to release my inhibitions in the form of dance,” says Ryan Spataro, a junior in architecture and a Joe’s regular. “The sounds, the strobe lights, my own sweat — it’s great.”

For others such as Jenna Dillon, a freshman in LAS, the appeal is even simpler: “Two words: stripper pole,” Dillon says.
