The Great Cover Up may have put most of the CU Celebs in literal disguises, but these local musicians don’t usually need to drive around in wigs to hide from the prying Champaign paparazzi, trusting Mike ’n’ Molly’s and Cowboy Monkey to show them a good time and a great drink.

Both Mike ’n’ Molly’s and Cowboy Monkey stick to a very relaxed atmosphere and an array of available beverages. Mike ’n’ Molly’s has an antiqued window paneling exterior and glossy red walls with and a colorfully stocked bar, and Cowboy Monkey has a modern feel with its dimmed lighting and wrap-around bar. The latter also recently found a more discerning palate by concentrating on extending their menu. Both bars are spectacular choices for a night out, followed by a much-needed trip to Merry Ann’s for pancakes.
