Best Place to Buy Men's Clothing: Urban Outfitters
4:00 am Nov 13 - by Tim Anderson – buzz Writer
With its trendy, indie style and on-campus location, it’s no surprise that Urban Outfitters took away the prize for Best Place to Buy Men’s Clothing. University senior Rama Vallury agrees that, “Urban Outfitters has a great location and a very wide selection. Very good prices for the clothes it sells.” Urban Outfitters opened on Green Street at the beginning of this semester and has been providing everything from jackets and comic books to comfortable clothing and accessories to decorate a dorm or apartment. Urban Outfitters offers fashionable options for men at a price and location that can’t be beat for the Champaign-Urbana community.

Seriously? Is this just some pandering to the Suburbanite crowd? I wish I had all that money just to throw away on way overpriced stuff.

It's sad that the majority of people who shop at UO are unaware of the social implications it has. The owners are stanch Evangelical Republicans who donate tons of money to the very causes that many of these "Indie" kids are against. Furthermore, the company hires professional thrifters to find authentic and original vintage clothing and then they mass produce it! This works against the whole purpose of thrifting! If you're willing to drop $40 bucks on some hooded sweatshirt why not but it from another indie retailer like American Apparel. At least their products are made in the USA and they pay their employes a livable wage. UO is such an eyesore on campus- this is not an urban city- it's a fucking cornfield town. T
