The internet and a capable computer provide countless opportunities for creation. However, once you’ve recorded your podcast or cut your song, the question of distribution comes into effect. How do you get eyes and ears on your product?

Libsyn is short for liberated syndication, and describes itself as a premiere media distribution service. The service works to drive the work of the individual podcaster by making the website as simple and approachable as possible. It’s as simple as uploading an MP3, and from there Libsyn will create an RSS feed and feed the show through iTunes or other similar podcast clients.

Unfortunately, the service comes at a price, albeit a small one. The most basic plan begins at 50MB for $5 a month, with plans scaling up to 1500MB a month. Libsyn even offers a storage space calculator to help you determine exactly which plan you should subscribe to.

One of the more unique services of Libsyn is the “sandbox” feature, which allows users to play with the complete functionality of the service before purchasing a month.

Get on your microphone, and let Libsyn be the soapbox.
